Description
Epithalon (also known as Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) analogue of the naturally occurring pineal gland peptide epithalamin. It has been studied for its interactions with telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) gene expression and telomere length maintenance mechanisms in cell culture models.
Research Context
Preclinical research has examined Epithalon's effects on telomerase activity in human somatic cell lines and its influence on telomere elongation kinetics.
