Description
TB-500 is a synthetic analogue of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid peptide that is a major actin-sequestering molecule in eukaryotic cells. The active region centres on the actin-binding domain (residues 17–23), which facilitates interactions with G-actin monomers critical to cytoskeletal dynamics and cell migration.
Research Context
Thymosin Beta-4 has been studied in preclinical wound-healing models, examining its role in keratinocyte and endothelial cell migration, collagen deposition, and inflammatory response modulation. Research has also explored its interactions with laminin and matrix metalloproteinases in tissue remodelling assays. Supplied exclusively for in vitro laboratory research purposes.
